Industrial Visit to CAMPCO LTD

          The final year Logistics Students of PAFGC undertook an Industrial visit to Campco Ltd as a part of their academic program on 11th November 2023 at 11:00 a.m. CAMPCO has its head office at Puttur and its Branches are spread all over India. The company set up a chocolate manufacturing plant in 1986 at Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. CAMPCO is one of the few leading cooperative institutions in the Country working towards building a community of growers and farmers. The company set up a chocolate manufacturing plant in 1986 in Puttur, a city in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. The plant produces chocolates and other products of cocoa both under its brand and also for other chocolate brands. It has a well-set-up manufacturing factory equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and a large number of factory workers from around the area. CAMPCO was built on the foundation of empowerment and as the years go on, this foundation is only getting stronger under the guidance of its leaders and cooperative members. A total of 45 logistics students were present along with two staff. The students were divided into two groups, each accompanied by Campco Production Supervisors Mr. Arun and Mr. Shivakumar. They provided insights into various processes, such as cocoa extraction into ghee and powder, and packing procedures and shared information about the company's import and export business, supply of by-products to other companies, recruitment, turnover, and dividend rate policies. Advanced technologies and machinery were observed by the students during the visit and also about the automation or specialized equipment used in the logistics processes. They also provided insights into how logistics and supply chain management are integrated into the company's operations & quality control measures implemented in the production and packaging processes. Mr. Radhesh, the HRO, clarified the students' doubts, while Ms. Ramyashree and Ms. Chaithanya accompanied the students during the industrial visit.
