Report on Induction Program

P.A First Grade College organised five days induction program for 1st year degree students from 30 August 2023 to 05 sept 2023. As a part of induction program students were divided into four groups irrespective of their classes. Each group consisted 75 members and a section incharge, who actively interacted with the students during the time allotted for summing up. The main objective of having induction program is to introduce multi-disciplinaries to the students to make them learn something new, motivate them to strive hard, be positive, be diplomatic and stay healthy. In order to meet the objective 10 dynamic speakers were chosen to deliver sessions on different topics.

Students actively participated in the activities conducted during the interactive session. Apart from the sessions, on 5 sept 2023 invited talk was organised separately to each stream.

Induction program successfully ended on 5 September 2023 with valedictory program. Mr Sharfuddin PK, AGM- Campus was invited as the guest of honour. Dr Ramis MK(Principal, PACE), Prof. KP Soofie( Principal, PAPT), Dr. Sayyed Ameen( Dean- Student Affairs & Director- CMSR), Dr Iqbal, Physical Director, PACE and Mr Mohammed Faizal N, Head- CPOD were the distinguished guests. Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC presided over the program. All speakers were invited and facilitated with a small token of gratitude and appreciation. Students and speakers shared their views. Program ended with a hope that students will inculcate what is taught to them during their induction program.

Meeting with Numero UNO team on 08/08/2023

Mr Shivabasav Chinivalar, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Numero UNO, the training partners of Mangalore University visited PAFGC and discussed with PAFGC team about their various upskilling programmes offered to the students. Dr. Surfraz J. Hasim, Principal, PAFGC, Mr Mohamned Faizal, Head - CPOD & Ms. Delcy R D’Souza, Asst. Professor and Placement Officer were present on the occasion.

Special Lecture by Dr Surfraz J Hasim on Mind Mapping @ Mlr University

Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Psychologist, Mind Trainer & Coach and Principal, P.A. First Grade College was invited by the Mangalore University to deliver as Special Lecture on Mind Mapping and Hypnosis on 21 June 2023 at Prof. U R Rao Hall.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Jayaraj Amin, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University.

Prof. Y. Sangappa, Finance Officer, Mangalore University, Prof. P L Dharma, Former Registrar (Evaluation), Prof. B K Sarojini, Chairperson, Dept. of Industrial Chemistry, Prof. Dayanand Naik, Dept. of Political Science, Prof. Parameshwar, Chairman, Dept. of Commerce and Director of Student Welfare, Mangalore University were present on the occasion. Faculty members of various departments and about 200 students participated in the program.

GREENAURA ENVIRONMENTAL CELL - VANAMAHOTSAVA

Greenaura Environmental Cell organised “VANAMAHOTSAVA” on 21st June 2023, with the aim of creating awareness about the importance of planting and its effect on environment.

Chief Guest of the Programme Pro. C. V Pujar , Department of Mechanical Engineering addressed the gathering and gave a brief insights to the students present regarding plantation, importance of trees and forests in our lives and to protect environment. Principal Mr. Surfraz J Hasim encouraged students to tree planting activities and make them aware of the benefits. Captain Rudresh, Mr.Haris TD, Mr. Ibrahim ,Physical Director, staff Coordinators Ms. Najla Mariyam, Assistant Professor, Department of HSS, Mrs. Deepti Udyavar, HOD, Department of Commerce, and Mrs. Ashalatha A, Assistant Professor, Department of FT/FND, Ms. Gopika , Department of HSS, along with the student coordinators and other members were present and involved in planting various saplings.

OUTCOME:

  • The event helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us.
  • To raise awareness about the benefits of trees and to encourage people to become more active in environmental conservation efforts.
  • Students got to learn a lot and will always cherish the memories of this important occasion.

International Yoga Day at PAFGC

PAFGC in association with IQAC and Dept. of Physical Education observed International Yoga Day on 21 June 2023 at E-Learning Centre @3.15 pm.

Dr. Shri Hari Sukesh, Yoga Therapist, Dept. of Human Consciousness and Yogic sciences was invited as the resource person. He propounded the importance of yoga and gave practical demonstration of basic yoga.

Dr Iqbal, Physical Director, PACE and Mr Sundar, Physical Director, PAPT were present on the occasion. Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC highlighted the importance of yoga giving real life experience. Around 30 students actively participated and gained practical knowledge about yoga. The program began invoking the blessings of almighty by Mr Mufeed from 1st BCom and Compèred by Ms Muneera A, Asst. Professor in English .

The program was coordinated by Mr Ibrahim, Physical Director, PAFGC.

GREENAURA ENVIRONMENTAL CELL - BEST OUT OF WASTE

Greenaura Environmental Cell conducted a competition “BEST OUT OF WASTE” on 29 th May 2023, with the aim of creating awareness about the recycling and reusing the waste material and can result in usable products.

Staff Coordinators Ms. Najla Mariyam, Assistant Professor, Department of HSS, Ms Rosey, Assistant Professor, Department of FT/FND, and Ms. Ashalatha A Assistant Professor, Department of FT/FND along with the student coordinators Mohammad Shakhir A P, Umrul Farooq Ahmed Shahik from III B.Com. Various innovative and creative ideas can be put together to being something new and useful. There were 40 students participated in the competition.

Products were judged on the creativity, use of waste materials, functionality and overall appearance. Judgement was done by Ms. Noorjahan Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi and Ms. Muneera , Assistant Professor, Department of English.

Winners of the competition were Khadeejath Naja and team I BBA A (First place), Ali Aufa and team I B.com ( Second Place ), Fathimath Shahnaz and team I BBA (Second place ).

OUTCOME:

  • To understand the issues concerning environment with waste.
  • It allowed students to understand importance of making useful things out of waste.
  • It helped students to understand the concept of recycling and reusing.

REPORT ON BLOOD DONATION CAMP

On account of World Blood Donor Day, Youth Red Cross, National Service Scheme Unit & IQAC of P.A First Grade College in association with Red Cross Society Blood Bank, Government Lady Goschen, Mangaluru has organised a blood donation camp on 6 June 2023 at E - Learning centre @ 9.15 AM.

Mr. Sanjay Shetty, secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, D.K (District branch), Mangalore was the chief guest of the day. Mr. Praveen Kumar, Coordinator, Indian Red Cross Society, D.K(District), Mr. Abbas Uchil (Member- Youth Red Cross Society), Former Sales and Marketing Manager, Ecolab, K.S.A, and Mr. Sharfuddeen P.K, AGM-Campus, PAET were the guests of honour. Dr. Saleemulla Khan, Principal, PACP, Dr. Sajeesh Raghunathan, Principal, PAIP, Mr. Muhammad Faizal. N, Head- Centre for Professional and Organisation Development were the distinguished guests.

The formal function began with invoking the blessing of Almighty by Mr. Ishaan Sheik from 2nd BBA. Mr. Sanjay Shetty propounded the importance of blood donation and congratulated the team for their initiative. He also encouraged the students to take more participation in such activities and programmes. On this occasion, Dr. Iqbal, Physical Director, PAET was felicitated for his successful completion of Doctoral Degree.

Ms. Ithashree M, NSS Program Officer gave introductory remarks on blood donation. Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, P.A. First Grade College delivered presidential address. IQAC coordinator, Heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion. Mr. Hamad Basheer, YRC Program Officer, Ms. Ithashree, NSS Program Officer, Ms. Chaitra N.V, NSS Program Officer were the coordinators of the program.

Around 125 donors from PAFGC and Sister Institutions were voluntarily donated blood. Ms. Aleema Nabeela from 3rd Food Nutrition and Dietetics welcomed the gathering, while Ms. Hala Iqbal from 3rd Food Technology proposed vote of thanks. The program was compered by Ms. Hana Mariyam from 3rd Food Nutrition and Dietetics.

Report on world Meditation Day

PAFGC in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell observed World Meditation Day and organised A Practical Session on "Meditation for Inner Peace" by Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Psychologist, Mind Trainer & Coach, Principal, P. A. First Grade College at E- Learning Centre on 22 May 2023 @ 11.30 a.m.

Session began high lighting how to attain inner peace by consuming golden energy and omitting black energy. The practical session helped the participants from PAFGC and sister institutions to understand how to meditate to strengthen ourselves. At the end of the session participants were able to feel the difference. The platform was open for Q& A where they expressed their experience saying that the meditation helped them to feel relaxed. Questions were raised related to self meditation, difference between meditation and hypnosis etc. Satisfactory answers from the speaker helped the participants to clear their doubts and encouraged them to go for meditation on daily basis to have a peaceful mind.

Program began invoking the blessings of almighty by Mr Ahmed Irfad from I BCA. Ms Aleema Nabeela from III year FND welcome the gathering while Ms Salma Aifna from I BCom proposed vote of thanks. Ms Ayesha Fahima From III Year FND hosted the session. The program coordinated by Ms Noorjan Begam, Head- Dept. of HSS was a grand success.

JUSTICE LEAGUE -23” Intra-Collegiate Commerce and Management Fest

The Commerce and Management Association organized one day Intra-Collegiate Commerce and Management Fest “JUSTICE LEAGUE 23”, on 23 May 2023 at E- Learning Hall. The event was a grand success in terms of various competitions such as Quiz, Human Resource, Marketing, Finance and Best Manager.

Chief guest Dr. Preethi Keerthi Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Mangaluru University inaugurated the fest and delivered a remarkable address. Ms. Deepthi Udyavar, Head- Dept. of Commerce and Management presided over the programme and appreciated the organizers for their efforts and conveyed best wishes to the participants. As the undying tradition, fest began with invoking the blessings of almighty by Mr. Ishaan Sheikh, 2nd year BBA. Ms. Preethi, Asst. Professor & Coordinator of “JUSTICE LEAGUE 23” welcomed the gathering. Ms. Ramyashree, Assistant Professor, Dept. of commerce and Management introduced the chief guest, while Mr. Abdul Bashit of 3 rd year B.Com proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Salma Aifna of 1st year B.Com compered the formal function.

BUSINESS QUIZ-CYBORG
The quiz competition was held at the E- Learning Hall. Mr. Avinash, Asst. Professor, Department of commerce GFGC, Haleyangadi was the Quiz Master.

MARKETING EVENT- FLASH
Ms. Chaithra N.V, Assistant professor, Department of commerce and management and Mr. Mohammed Ansar, 3rd year B.Com and Ms. Famida Yasmin, IInd year BBA-A coordinated the marketing event. There were 17 teams (2 students in each team) for the first round (Marketing quiz). In that, 7 teams got eliminated in the part -I quiz and out of 10 teams, after part -II quiz only 5 teams were selected for the second round (Treasure hunt- Identify the real culprit). For the final round (New product launch), 4 teams got selected. Ms. Eeral Roche-Assistant Professor, Department of MBA, PACE and Ms. Deepthi Udyavar, Head- Department of Commerce and Management, PAFGC were invited as judges for the final round of Marketing event.

BEST MANAGER- SUPERMAN
Ms Reshma and Mr. Hamad Basheer, faculty members of Commerce and Management and Mr. Aman of IIIrd year BBA and Mr. Hameem Kacheri, IInd year BBA-B coordinated the best manager event. There were 11 participants for the first round (case study) of the event and 7 students were promoted for the second round (Risk Management) . There were 4 participants for the final round (Stress Interview) Dr. Sayyed Ameen, Dean- Student Affairs and Director, Centre for Management studies and research PACE and Mr. Mohammed Faizal head, CPOD were the judges for the final round.

FINANCE EVENT-BATMAN
Ms. Chaithanya, Asst. Professor, Department of commerce and management, Ms. Fathima Nuhma, III rd year B.Com Mr. Mohammed Ishaan Shaik, IInd year BBA A, Mr. Arshad Ahmed Hussainnaikar, II nd year BBA coordinated the finance event. Total 15 teams from different streams were participated in the first round (Fillomino) on 22 May 2023 at 2 PM in BCA Lab II & top 10 teams were qualified for the 2nd round.

2nd round (Battleship) was conducted on 23 May 2023 from 11 AM to 12. 15p PM & top 5 teams were qualified for the final round.

Final round Calcuduku was started from 2PM to 2. 45PM. Ms. Ankitha, Asst. Professor, MBA, PACE & Ms. Vanishree Y, IQAC Coordinator, PAFGC were the judges for the final round.

HR EVENT- AQUAMAN
Ms. Ithashree M, faculty of Commerce and Management and Ms. Suroora Suman IIIrd year BBA and Ms. Mariyam Shamnaz of IIIrd year B.Com, Mr. Mohammed Hashir, IInd year B.com, Ms.Mushmooma Nazrin, IInd yea BBA-B coordinated the HR event. There were 16 participants for the first round (Aptitude test) of the event and for second round (case study) 10 were selected. During 3 rd round twisted situation was given for the participants and 5 teams got selected out of 7. Mr. Muneera and Ms. Rasheedha Banu, Assistant Professors, Dept. of HSS were the Judges. Final round was Stress Interview. Ms. Nithinsha and Mr. Irshad Department of MBA were the judges.

Valedictory ceremony was held at the end of the day. Mr. Mohammad Faizal Head, Centre for Professional and Organizational Development addressed the gathering.

The winners and runners were awarded with certificates and trophies. Ms Safiyath Zia from Ist year B.Com compered the program. Ms Hanuna from 3rd year B. Com welcomed the gathering, Ms Nuhma from 3rd year B.Com proposed the vote of thanks. Justice League'23 was concluded with a promo video.

Dr Surfraz as Resource Person @ Yenepoya Speciality Hospital, Kodialbail: 26/5/23

Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal - P.A. First Grade College was invited as a Resource Person to conduct a session on Mind Mapping & Work-Life Balance at Yenepoya Speciality Hospital on 26th May 2023. 100 staff members attended the program.

REPORT ON HACCP AND FOSTAC, CERTIFICATION TRAINING PRGORAM

P. A First Grade College, Department of Science conducted a two days of training program on HACCP and FOSTAC certificate courses for the final year students of Food Technology and Food Nutrition and Dietetics.

The training program for the Certificate Course on HACCP and FOSTAC was held on 27 th & 28 th of April 2023.

The trainers were appointed from a prestigious company, who are known for providing other certification course in many other parts of the country.

On 27/04/2023, the session began with prayer invoking the blessings of the almighty followed by the introduction of the speaker. Mr Aneesh Thekkepurath (HACCP TRAINER) conducted the HACCP training in the classroom SF-06, HACCP- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point to our students. He gave a clear information hazards that can occur due to negligence of the employee, due to unhygienic practices and many more.

He also shared about how hazard can be detected and prevented from entering into the customer chain, with the help of 7 Principles of HACCP.

On 28/04/2023, the second day of the training program was held in the classroom SF-06 by Mr. Muhammed Jafar (FOSTAC TRAINER) enlightened about FOSTAC- Food Safety Training and Certification. The speaker spoke about the hygienic conditions to be followed in an industry, as it increases the safety of the consumers, which in turn will build up the trust upon the company giving it an upper hand in the market.

The session ended up with an interactive discussion with the students clearing all their doubts regarding HACCP and FOSTAC.

The training program was concluded with a valedictory program in the presence of the trainers, Ms. Delcy D’Souza, HOD, Department of FT/FND, and Nirmal C Bensia, Asst. Professor, Department of FT/ FND.

OUTCOME

  • The session provided the information about hazards to be controlled in Food Industries and also to reduce the contamination (free from pest, rodents) in order to produce quality foods.
  • The students were made aware of current scenario of Food Industries and also their upcoming scope and opportunities.

Report on Ambedkar Jayanthi

PAFGC in association with IQAC and Human Rights Cell organised   ‘Ambedkar Jayanti ’ on 27 April 2023, at 11.00AM @ E-Learning Centre. Dr. Dayananda Naik, Associate Professor, Dept. of Political Science, Manglore University, Mangalagangothri was invited as the chief guest.He inspired the students highlighting the constitutional aspect and encouraged them to respect our constitution and follow the same. It helped the students to have deep insight into the Indian Constitution. Dr.Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC presided over the program and encouraged students to get into real politics to bring changes in our society.  Ms. Vanishree, IQAC Coordinator, Ms. Deepthi Udyavar, Head- Dept. Of commerce and Management, Ms. Noor Jahan Begum, Head- Dept. of Humanities and social sciences and Ms. Rasheeda Banu, Coordinator of the Program were present on the Dias.

Report on “Voting Awareness program”

National Service Scheme(NSS) & Youth Red Cross(YRC) Association of P.A First Grade College , Nadupadavu has conducted an Voting Awareness Program  around the campus on 02/05/2023 between 2.30 p.m to 4.00p.m.

Students urged people not to waste their votes & informed how the public play an important role in election.NSS Volunteers visited nearby houses and distributed the pamphlets.It is to be mentioned that the buzz around election is in full swing in the city as the state goes to poll on 10 May 2023.

24 NSS Volunteers actively participated in the campaign. Ms.Ithashree M & Ms.Chaithra N.V ,NSS Program Officers ,Mr.Hamad Basheer ,YRC Coordinator, Ms.Jaseera Jannath, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Management were present during the occasion.

Elocution Competition- On account of National Safe Motherhood Day Academic Programme 2022-23

Women's Cell has conducted an Elocution Competition on account of National Safe Motherhood Day on 11-04-2023 at 3.05 PM, with the aim of enhancing speaking capability in students. Participants were given the topic 'Working Mother' and informed about the rules and regulations of the competition.23 students were present on the occasion.

OUTCOME:

  1. To promote the significance of Feminism in students and to understand the life complexity of working mothers.
  2. Helped to enhance the presentation skills in students.

Chief Guest at Madhura International Schl on 8/4/23

Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, P.A. First Grade College, delivered a talk on “Importance of Education” for the parents at Madhura International School, Menala, Eshwaramangala on Saturday, 8th April 2023.

REPORT ON INAUGURATION OF YEN – HOMOEOPATHY CLINIC

On 4 th April 2023, P.A First Grade College in collaboration with Yenepoya Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in association with IQAC, NSS, YRC and Nutritionora. Inaugurated Homoeopathy Clinic and conducted an awareness program on “Know yourself before consulting clinic”.

Dr. Vijayendra V Itagi, Vice Principal, Yenepoya Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore and Mr. Sharfuddin P.K, AGM (Campus) were the guests of honour. Inauguration was done by all the guests and staffs by pouring the water to the plant. Dr. Shivaprasad K in his inaugural address spoke about the principles of homeopathy & treatment based on principles. Dr. Vijayendra V Itagi addressed the gathering and spoke about the patients and the treatments given to them. Presidential address was given by Dr. Surfraz J Hasim. Mr. Sharafuddin PK, AGM (campus) PAET felicitated Dr. Shivaprasad K & Dr. Vijayendra V Itagi by Dr. Sayyed Ameen. The programme bagan evoking the blessing of the Almighty by Ahmed Irfad from 1 st BCA at E- Learning centre. Ms. Hala Iqbal, 3 rd B.Sc FT welcomed the gathering while Ms. Khadeejath Munaza from 3 rd B.Sc FND proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Aleema Nabeela from 3 rd B.Sc FND hosted the event. The clinic was inaugurated by Dr. Shivaprasad K, Dr. Vijayendra v itagi, Mr. Sharafuddin PK and Dr. Surfraz J Hasim at 11.30 AM. Treatment was given to around 55 patients.Ms. Rosey, Asst. Professor, department of FT & FND and Ms. Sruthi C. K, Asst. Professor, department of FT & FND were the coordinators of the program.

REPORT ON ONE DAY ORIENTATION PROGRAM ON “SCOPE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE CURRENT SCENARIO”.

P.A First Grade College in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Innovation Incubation Cell (IIC) has organized a one day orientation program on "Scope of Entrepreneurship in the Current Scenario" on 29th March 2023 at E- Learning Center at 10.00 a.m. for the students of various departments of P.A.F.G.C and Center for Management Studies and Research, PACE.

The Resource person, Capt. Amar Mascarenhas, Director- Operations Wiz Bulk, South East Asia, Chief Guest Dr. Krishnaprasad N, Head- Dept. Of Biotechnology, PACE, Dr. Sayyad Ameen Ahmad, Dean- Students Affair and Director- Center for Management Studies and Research, PACE, Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC, and Ms.Vanishree, IQAC Coordinator were present.

Chief Guest, Dr. Krishna Prasad motivated the crowd giving various examples and ideas to become Entrepreneurs in the current scenario.

The Resource person explained the present scenario of entrepreneurship and skills required in the field. The talk was mainly focused on how to start a new business, bear most of the risks and enjoy the rewards. He described the skills of entrepreneurs and how to put forth the ideas to create a product, service, or new business that people will buy, as well as an organization to support that effort.

The session was informative and was open for discussion with Q& A. It encouraged the students to share their opinions and ideas.

Report on EVM and VVPAT Machine demo program

PAFGC in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell and NSS committee has conducted an Electronic Voting Machine(EVM)and VV PAT demo program to the students by the officials of the Election Commission of India on 28th  March 2023 at PACE campus at 2.00 p.m.

Students were actively participated in the EVM and VVPAT Machine demo program. Launch of new Platform to upgrade skills for Career Development by Mangalore University

The Mangalore University Career Centre, managed by Numero Uno Partners and supported by Mangalore University, is all geared to make a transformational impact on the career outcomes of the students of Mangalore University. The new platform launch was held at Hotel A.J. Grand, Mangaluru on 18 March 2023. It is an integrated clod – based application platform, that connects the university, colleges, students, corporates, course providers, certification agencies, assessment service providers, and other allied partners and enables meaningful engagement towards facilitating student career development and outcomes. The Program was graced by Dr. P.S. Yedapadithaya, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University, Dr Kishore Kumar C.K, Registrar, Dr Raju Krishna Challannavar, Registrar (Evaluation), Mr. Shivabasava Chinivalar, Managing Director, Numero Uno Partners Pvt. Ltd. and Principals of Affiliated Colleges of Mangalore University.

One Day Workshop on Culinary Art at PAFGC:

IQAC in association with Womens’ cell organised one day workshop on culinary art for the non-teaching staff of PAFGC at FND lab on 15 March 2023.

Many delicacies including Biriyani, Tikka, Milk Shakes, Mojitos etc. was prepared by the participants.

One Day workshop on converting solid waste into Compost at PAFGC

IQAC in association with NSS & Environmental Cell organised One Day workshop and awareness program on Converting Kitchen solid waste into Compost by using Harmi Pot, on 14 th March 2023 at PAFGC premises.

Prof. C.V. Pujar, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering addressed the gathering and gave a brief insight to the volunteers and members present regarding the effective utilisation of the project in the campus and at their localities.

Also, he gave a brief data about the issues concerning the environment, the climate change and the ways in which we can contribute to the control of global warming. Capt. Rudresh. N, Campus Supervisor briefed about the effective use of this project in the campus.

On 14th December 2022, the Department of Food Nutrition and Dietetics in Collaboration with Nutritionora inaugurated Diet Care Clinic at PA First Grade College. Ms Saaksha M, Clinical Dietician, Department of Dietetics, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest. Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC, Dr.Sayyed Ameen, Dean-Students Affair, Director, Centre for Management Studies and Research,PACE,  Mr. Mohammed Faizal N, Head- Centre for Professional and Organisation Development, PAET, Mr Sharafuddeen P.K, AGM- Campus were the guests of honour. Ms  Delcy D’Souza, HOD- Department of FT & FND, and Ms Rosey and Ms Sruthi, coordinators and other dignitaries  were also present on the occasion.

Walkathon in Mangaluru on 17 Dec 2022

Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), a Government of Karnataka initiative towards enabling 40% of contribution by the digital economy to the overall GSDP, has been spearheading the Beyond Bengaluru program through its 3 clusters- Mysuru, Mangaluru & Hubballi-Dharwad-Belgaum (HDB).

In this regard, staff & students of PAET Institutions along with industry leaders and staff & students of educational institutions of Mangaluru, participated in the Walkathon on 17th December 2022- 6 am to 7:30 am. It was 5 km walk for the industry and by the industry, towards fueling momentum among all the stakeholders was held in Mangaluru (T M A Pai International Convention Centre). ANTI-RAGGING AWARENESS PROGRAM

IQAC in association with Anti-Ragging Committee of P.A. First Grade College had organised an “Anti-Ragging Awareness Program” for the students of P.A First Grade College, on 09 December 2022, at E- Learning Centre at 10:00AM. Mr. Sandeep G.S, Police Inspector of  Ullal Police Station, Mangaluru was the Chief guest of the program. The Guests of Honour were Mr. Mallikarjun, Sub-Inspector, Konaje Police Station, Mangaluru, Mr. Shek Isak, Advocate & Notary, Mangaluru & Mrs. Nazhath Banu, Advocate, Mangaluru.

Mr. Sandeep G.S, Police Inspector of  Ullal Police Station, Mangaluru  was the main icon of the program. He briefly explained the causes and impacts of ragging and the acts related to ragging, how offensive it is to commit such a crime and what are the measurement taken by the government of Karnataka. He also mentioned few cases related to ragging that he has handled. He stressed on the importance of the student life and hard work and the sacrifices of their parents to make their future bright. He said that all the students are not from the same background, not all are strong enough to face humiliations made by their seniors and their classmates. He made the students realise that once the criminal data is recorded then it is updated through out the country’s criminal record and it becomes very difficult for the accused to travel abroad for work or studies. It is black remark if the student has found to be a part of ragging and he/she may be suspended from the college and no were else admissions would be given.

Mr. Mallikarjun, Sub-Inspector of Konaje, mangaluru gave an outline of Anti-Ragging. He gave insight about the causes and impacts of the issue caused by the youngsters who are in teenage. He also gave few cases that has occurred in the mangalore and urged students not to fall into such an offensive crime which would deprive them from getting better opportunities in the future and eventually would be subjected into the list of criminal record and would also bring shame to the parents.

Mr. Shek Isak, Advocate & Notary, Mangaluru spoke about ragging issues. He insisted students not to fall into ragging and read the affidavit while registering the ragging crimes which is done when the accused is found guilty. He explained Anti-Ragging laws.

Mrs. Nazhath Banu, Advocate, Mangaluru gave a brief information on Anti-ragging.  What are its causes, effects and impacts on the victims who have been ragged and she also gave examples where the victims have committed suicide because of the ragging issue.

Mr. sharaffudin, AGM of PAET Campus, Dr. sayyed Ameen, Dean and Student affairs, PAET, Mr. Mohammed Faizal, Head- centre for professional and Organisation Development , PAET, Ms.Vanishree, IQAC Co-ordinator, and HoDs of various departments and Program Coordinator, Faculty members , the Anti-Ragging squad faculty and student members, NSS members and class representatives were present during the program. Mr. sheikh  Safwan, II BBA A compeled the program. While Ms. Hala Iqbal, III FT, welcomed the gathering and Ms. Aleema Nabeela, III FND and Mr. Ashiq, III BBA A, introduced the Chief guest and the guests of honour. REPORT ON FRESHERS DAY

PAFGC celebrated Fresher’s day on 10 Dec 2022 at PACE auditorium. The program began at 10 AM by invoking the blessings of almighty by Mr. Sayyed Mahroof (III BCOM) and Mr. Salahudheen (III BCOM). Dr. Krishna Prasad, HOD Biotechnology PA college of Engineering was the guest of honour. He appreciated the students and staffs with his motivating words. He talked a few words about the importance of fresher’s day and harmony between seniors and juniors. Dr. Sayyed Ameen, Dean- Students affair and , Director, Centre for management studies and research, Mr. Mohammed Faizal N, Head- Centre for professional and organisational development, PAET, Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PAFGC, Head of various Departments, and the program coordinators Ms Najla Maryam, Asst. Prof, Department of HSS, and Ms. Jaseera Jannath, Asst. Prof, Department of Commerce & Management were present on the dais. Dr. Sayyed Ameen encouraged the students and appreciated PAFGC for meticulously organising of fresher’s day. Mr. Mohammed Faizal, Congratulated the efforts of staff and student coordinators. Staff coordinators Ms Najla Maryam and Ms Jaseera Jannath boosted up the energy of students with their encouraging words. The Student Coordinator Ms. Fathimath Shamla (III BCA), elited the students with her beautiful words. Ms. Fathima Hiba (III BBA) welcomed the gathering. Report on Investor Awareness Program for Students

P.A.F.G.C in Association with MUCTA organised an “Investor Awareness Program” for all the second year students of P.A.F.G.C, on 8 December 2022 at E-learning Centre. The Inaugural program started with a prayer invoking blessings of the almighty by Mr. Ishan Sheik (II Bcom).The Chief Guest of the Program was Dr. Puttanna.K (Chairperson, P.G Department of Business Administration). He gave few guidance to the students to start invest from now itself and explained the difference between Savings and Investments, Risk and Return. He also elucidated the impact of investment in future. Dr. Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, P.A.F.G., Dr. Sayyed Ameen, (Dean- Students Affair), Mr. Mohammed Faizal, (Head- Centre for Professional and Organisation Development), Ms. Deepthi Udyavar, (HOD, Dept. Of Commerce and Management), Ms. Vanishree (Coordintor, IQAC), Ms. Preethi (Asst.Prof, Dept. Of Commerce and Management) were present on the dais. The Investor Awareness program consisted 3 sessions: Financial Literacy, Time Value of Money and Personal investment Planning-hands on. The Resource person for the 1st Session was Mr.Naveen Rego, (CFP, SEBI Registered investment advisor). He emphasized the topic on financial regulators, financial scammers and how to invest the money wisely. He also explained different successful personalities and with the knowledgeable guidance inspired all the students. The session was an interactive one and he gave an insight to the topic. The session began at 10:45 am with welcome speech by the session incharge Ms. Reshma (Asst. Prof, Dept. Of commerce and Management) and ended with felicitation and Vote of thanks proposed by the Session Incharge.

Time value of Money was the second session by the Resource person, Mr. Leo Amal A, (Senior Branch Manager, Franklin Templeton India Pvt India Ltd). The speaker explained that the Time value of money is a monetary approximation, which gives worth to money at hand more value than future expectations of financial gains. He expounded in detail, types of mutual funds, how to invest and when to invest. Question & Answer at the proven successful to clear the doubts emerged in younger minds. The session began at 12:00 am with welcome speech by the session incharge Ms. Jaseera Jannath, (Asst. Prof, Dept. Of commerce and Management) and ended with felicitation and Vote of thanks proposed by the Session Incharge.

The third session on ‘Personal Investment Planning- Hands on’ was conducted by Mr. Elston Neil Menezes, (Financial Advisor, Mangaluru) Session covered money management planning for youngsters in detail. The speaker distributed workbook to all the participants which helped them to clearly understand the topic. He indulged the topic on Debt &Equity, Mutual Funds, Emergency Fund, and Savings Ration. He also gave list of stocks with prices. Q&A session at the end helped the students to clear their doubts. The Session began at 2:00 pm with welcome speech and ended with felicitation and vote of thanks proposed by the session incharge Mr. Mahammad Samsheer KS, (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce and Management.)

REPORT ON WORKSHOP ATTENDED

On 30 November 2022 , KIA jointly in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Young India (Yi), BNI, District Small Industries Association (DSIA), and Evolve organized the Episode 2 of the BUSINESS IDEAS 101 series, titled ‘’Technology transfer in Food Industry & Build your Brand’’. Students Department of Food Technology of PA First Grade College attended this fruitful session along with other participants from various industries and entrepreneurs.

The session started around 11 a.m. at KIA Hall, Baikampady. The event was hosted by Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Secretary, KIA. Opening Remarks were delivered by Mr. Ananthesh V Prabhu. The Keynote speaker was Mr. Raghavendra S V, Master trainer – PMFME Project, CSIR, CFTRI. Mr. Raghavendra S V spoke about the transfer of technology in the food industry from the beginning till now. He gave an overview of PMFME & other food sector schemes. He gave information on CSIR Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore, its history, the purpose of its establishment, technology transfer from CFTRI, R & D activities, and overall development in the agriculture and Food Industry. He also gave guidance for business development in the food and beverage industry.

It was an interactive session where students were actively involved and got the opportunity for networking. All the Queries were cleared by the resource person at the end of the session.

Invited talk on “Big Data Analytics" by Dr.Jeevan Pinto

The Department of Computer Applications in association with IT association, P.A First Grade College, Nadupadavu, Mangaluru conducted an invited talk on “Big Data Analytics" by Dr.Jeevan Pinto ,Associate professor Department of Computer Application (MCA)St Aloysius Institute of Management and Technology Kotekar,Mangalore November 28, Monday.

The program started with a prayer invoking blessings of the almighty by Aris T.A.  Dr.Jeevan Pinto, elucidated the students the difference in Human Vision and Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning with real world examples. He insisted students to do research to get recognition in this growing Information Technology. He explained how “Computer Vision” is growing, the job Opportunities in the IT sector. He Explained about Internet of Things and Online services .He concluded the talk by encouraging students to know more about the realistic world of technology. Principal felicitated Dr.Jeevan Pinto, with a token of appreciation. K Mahrofa from 2 nd BCA student welcomed the gathering.. Ms. Swaliha, of 3 rd BCA was the Master of Ceremony. ‘National Integration Day’ as a part of ‘Raashtriya Aykyatha Sapthaaha’

PA First Grade College observed ‘National Integration Day’ as a part of ‘Raashtriya Aykyatha Sapthaaha’ on 25 Nov 2022 at E- Learning Centre @2.00pm. The mission of observing the day is to foster unity, serenity, harmony, and fraternity among the people of the country, coming from different backgrounds and races. Different initiatives are taken to commemorate the day, encouraging bonding between people nationwide.

The chief Guest Dr Wajeedha Bano(Asst. Prof. Dept. Of Economic, Mangalagangothri campus, konaje) propounded the significance of the day. The program presided by Dr Surfraz J Hasim( Principal, PA First Grade College).IQAC Coordinator and heads of various departments were also present on the dias. Students performed various Programs including Mime show and song. Students fancy dress representing different states, their culture and language encouraged the students to promote integrity within the country. Students were lead to National Integration Day oath taking by Ms Aleema Nabeela (III FND).

‘Constitution Day’ on 26 Nov 2022 at E-Learning Centre

PA First Grade college observed ‘Constitution Day’ on 26 Nov 2022 at E-Learning Centre @11.00 am. Chief Guest Prof. John Valder, Head- Dept. of Electrical Engineering, PA College of Engineering elaborated the role of constitution in the democracy. The program coordinator Ms Rasheeda Banu explained the constitutional provisions. Dr Surfraz J Hasim, Principal, PA First Grade College delivered presidential address. Ms Hana Maryam(III FND), Ms Ayisha Faheema(III FND), and Ms k Mehroofa (II BCA) delivered short speeches about the importance and significant features of Indian Constitution. Ms Katheeja Shaimal ( III FND) read the preamble of the constitution. IQAC coordinator and heads of various departments were present on the dais.
